Light Fixture Installation in Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky

Pendants, flush mounts, chandeliers, vanity bars and outdoor fittings. Swapped out cleanly, hung level, old fitting taken away. Flat $85 service call.

The fixture that has been in the box since June

Changing a light fitting is one of those jobs that is genuinely simple right up until it is not. The old fitting comes down and there are three wires where you expected two, or the box is painted into the ceiling, or the ceiling is plaster and the screws have nothing to bite on.

We do this several times a week. Power off at the breaker and verified dead, old fitting down, connections made properly, fitting hung level and the old one taken away with the packaging.

Pendants & chandeliers

Hung at the right drop for the room and the table, levelled and balanced. Heavier pieces get a check that the box will actually carry the weight first.

Vanity, kitchen & hallway

Bathroom vanity bars, under-cabinet lighting, flush and semi-flush fittings in halls and bedrooms. Dimmer switches fitted at the same time if you want them.

Outdoor & security

Porch lights, wall lanterns, flood lights and motion sensors, using fittings and seals rated for outdoor use so water stays out of the box.

Do several at once

Almost nobody has exactly one light they want changed. The $85 service call covers the trip and the first hour, and it is charged once per visit rather than once per fitting. Several fixtures in one afternoon is far cheaper than booking them separately, and it is how most customers use us.

Add a ceiling fan, a couple of outlets and a smoke detector to the same visit and it is still one call-out.

Common questions

A straight replacement on a sound existing box usually fits inside our flat $85 service call, which covers the visit and the first hour. Several fittings in one visit is the cheapest way to do it, because the call-out is charged once.

Yes, once we have checked the box and the framing will carry it. A standard light box is not rated for a heavy fitting, so that sometimes means fitting a braced, rated box first. We will tell you before we start rather than after.

Yes, and it is worth doing while we are there. One thing to check is that the bulbs you are using are actually dimmable and that the dimmer suits LED loads, otherwise you get flicker. We will point that out.

It might be. Homes here built before about 1950 can still have original wiring with no ground conductor and cloth insulation that has gone brittle. We will tell you what we find. Swapping a fitting on sound wiring is our work; rewiring or panel changes need a licensed electrician.

Yes, along with the box the new one came in.
